New Government Plans To Tackle Pollution
There has been a lot of talk about air pollution in the news recently. The government has stated it’s plans to tackle air pollution in rural areas. Focused on Wood Burning stoves and open fires, the plans are hoping to tackle the growing pollution from particulates by the year 2025. It is stated that Wood Burners and solid fuel appliances make up a huge 38% of Particulate pollution in the UK.
Why burning wet wood is bad for all of us.
Naturally, burning wet wood is bad for everyone because it releases more smoke and tar into the environment and WILL line the inside of your chimney with residue, increasing the risk of chimney fires. We always encourage our customers to burn Kiln Dried Wood in their burners. It will keep your appliance cleaner and will give you a higher heat output per log over the cheaper, wetter alternatives.
