Kiln dried logs such as Oak, provide the perfect consistent heat needed for cooking wood fired pizza. Pizza oven wood must always be kiln dried to achieve a hot clean burn and to avoid doing any damage to your pizza oven stone.
These oak logs are kiln dried hardwood logs from sustainable sources with a moisture content of less than 18%. They can be used in most pizza ovens including Ooni pizza ovens that are configured for burning wood (not gas or wood pellets).
The hardwood oak will maintain consistent heat throughout your pizza cooking and will allow you to cook several pizzas at once with minimal wait time between each pizza while the oven gets back up to temperature. This is achieved because Oak burns extremely hot which is perfect for cooking pizza.
Oak Pizza Oven Logs
Oak logs vary in size. You may need to split the log so they are perfectly sized for your pizza oven. Typically the logs we supply in these 60 litre bags are 10 inches long but they will vary in diameter. If you have a small pizza oven, you will need small logs. Carefully split the oak logs lengthways along the grain.
These logs are a natural product and as such there will be variation in size, colour and general appearance. However, all of our kiln dried logs are Ready to Burn Certified and guaranteed to have less than 18% moisture content.
Oak logs smoke less, are food safe and suitable for use in domestic and commercial wood fired pizza ovens. These logs are free of any chemicals.
