Pizza Oven Logs in Boot Bag

Pizza ovens need kiln dried hardwood logs with a moisture level below 18% to achieve the high heat needed to cook pizza. Our Pizza oven logs are just that and we cut them extra small so you can easily fit them into your pizza oven alongside the actual pizza.

For commercial caterers we can supply larger quantities of pizza oven logs. All of our kiln dried logs are ready to burn certified as 'kiln dried wood with less than 18% moisture'. Perfect for the consistent heat without excess smoke needed for wood fired ovens.

Choosing the Right Cooking Fuel

We have written a series of guides on cooking fuels for use outdoors during summer. Here in Cornwall we enjoy a long summer and cooking food outdoors in the garden or at the beach is an essential part of life in these parts when temperatures rise.

Pizza Ovens - The Right Wood, Advice & Pizza Recipes

Pizza is extremely popular with locals and visitors alike in Cornwall. You can't beat the smoky flavours and crisp snap of a wood fired pizza. Our team are as wild about pizza as you are and we've prepared some helpful tips for your outdoor cooking this year:

Choosing the Right Wood for Wood Fired Pizza

This guide looks at the best performing firewood for pizza. You want it to burn hotter and deliver the right smokey flavour. Read 'choosing the right wood for wood fired pizza' to learn more and when you're ready you can purchase kiln dried hardwood logs online or by giving us a quick call.

Operating Tips for Pizza Oven Owners

Here we dive into advice on how to get the most out of your pizza oven. Are you using enough wood? How to achieve the highest quality pizza when cooking. Lighting the fire, safety, keeping it hot, maintenance and more. Read the article 'operating tips for pizza oven owners' to learn more.

Pizza Recipes

The best bit of course is the pizza itself. Check out our uniquely Cornish pizza recipes written by our resident pizza enthusiasts at Logan's Logs. There's even a cream tea pizza with the jam first, naturally.

BBQs - What to Burn? Best BBQ Tips and Grill Recipe Ideas

BBQs remain a popular pastime on the beach with a few beers and a rogue frisbee and we're a big fan too. With our restaurant grade lumpwood charcoal, you can cook up a mean grill with that authentic bbq flavour without the chemicals and smoke often associated with (perish the thought) a disposable bbq.

We've put together some handy guides on cooking outdoors on a bbq this year to fan the flames of your 'beach is life' world-view. See you on the sand.

What to burn for a BBQ?

Ideally not the sausages - but that's not what we mean! This guide will help you figure out exactly what kind of fuel, firelighters and kindling you need to operate a proper bbq. Heavy on the firewood and charcoal though it is, we also spare a moment's thought for our old friend bottled gas (which we also conveniently sell).

Grilling Guide

Check out our grilling guide for recipes and bbq grill ideas for meat, fish and vegetables. Here in Cornwall we are fortunate to have a thriving local food industry so expect lots of local produce and uniquely Cornish ideas for seasonal BBQ dishes that would make Rick Stein salivate.

Getting the Fire Started

Kindling & Firelighters

Choose from our range of affordable firelighters and kindling (sticks). Use these to build your fire before adding kiln dried logs.

Products like Wood Wool Firelighters are designed to ignite very easily when presented with a burning match and softwood kindling combusts easily in the early stages of your fire creating the necessary heat to burn larger hardwood logs later on. Our kiln dried logs are perfect for use in wood burners, providing a clean and efficient burn.
