Product Description
Large Birch Crate Delivered
Our Large Birch Crates of kiln dried logs are an excellent choice if you want a generous, clean-burning supply of firewood that is easy to store and simple to use. These crates offer one of the most convenient ways to buy kiln dried birch logs in bulk, with the firewood neatly stacked inside a robust timber crate for safe delivery and straightforward storage.
Kiln-dried birch logs are available in various formats, including nets, barrow bags, and full crates, so you can choose the most convenient option for your needs.
Buying birch logs by the large crate is far more practical than relying on loose bulk bags, tipped loads, or multiple small nets. Everything arrives contained, tidy, and ready to use, making it ideal for households or businesses that burn wood regularly and want a reliable supply on hand. Efficient stacking in crates and palletized delivery helps reduce transport cost, which is reflected in the price for customers.
If you run a wood burning stove most days, or want a dependable stock of fast-lighting hardwood for the colder months, a large birch crate is a sensible and efficient option.
Large crates are delivered by our local driver team typically by small lorry. We recommend booking your delivery in advance, especially during busy periods like Christmas and New Year, to ensure you are covered and receive your logs on time. Our service is available in Cornwall and Plymouth.
Birch Logs That Light Easily and Burn Cleanly
Kiln dried birch is widely valued for its ease of use. It lights quickly, burns cleanly, and produces a lively flame, making it especially popular for everyday stove use. Birch firewood is suitable for use in log burners, open fireplaces, chimineas, fire pits, and pizza ovens, and is often chosen for outdoor cooking due to its high heat and clean burn. Our birch logs are kiln dried to below 18 percent moisture content and are certified under the Woodsure Ready to Burn scheme, guaranteeing consistent quality and performance.
Birch has a lower density than oak, which means it ignites more easily and produces excellent heat quickly. Birch burns hot and clean, making it ideal for pizza ovens and outdoor cooking, and birch burns with a pleasant, natural aroma that enhances the ambiance of a fire. This makes it ideal for bringing a stove up to temperature, for daytime burning, or for users who prefer a responsive fire without long waiting times.
While ash is traditionally popular for its burn efficiency and minimal ash residue, kiln-dried birch offers similar advantages and is often preferred for its quick ignition and lively flame. Kiln-dried birch firewood produces minimal smoke and leaves behind minimal ash, making it a clean-burning choice.
Birch bark contains natural oils, which help it catch fire easily, even in damp conditions. Some suppliers include free kindling with birch log purchases, or kindling is recommended for efficient fire starting. While the crates are primarily filled with kiln-dried birch, some bark will be present, but quality is strictly controlled.
All birch logs are freshly sawn and cut to approximately 10 inches, ensuring they fit comfortably into most wood burning stoves, including smaller models.
Storing Kiln Dried Birch Logs in Crates
Our large crates combine value with practical storage. Keeping the logs stacked and raised off the ground helps protect them from moisture and allows air to circulate naturally around the wood.
We do not tightly wrap our crates in plastic, which helps maintain airflow and keeps your kiln dried birch logs in excellent condition after delivery. For best results, store the crate in a sheltered area with good ventilation and avoid placing it directly on damp ground.
Crate Dimensions
All of our large crates are the same size. Each crate measures 800mm tall, 1150mm wide, and 1150mm deep, giving an internal volume of just over 1 cubic metre.
Large crates are normally purchased for delivery. If you wish to collect a crate instead, you will need a suitably sized vehicle capable of safely transporting a full crate. For smaller vehicles, we recommend choosing alternative options such as birch nets, barrow bags, or boot bags.
All of our kiln dried logs are Woodsure Ready to Burn certified. If this is your first order with Logan’s Logs, sign up to our newsletter to receive 5 percent off and enjoy even better value on your large birch crate.
Sustainability of Birch Logs
Birch logs, especially kiln dried birch logs, stand out as a sustainable and environmentally friendly firewood choice for homes and businesses alike. One of the key reasons is the natural growth cycle of birch trees.
Unlike slower-growing hardwoods such as oak, birch trees regenerate quickly, allowing for more frequent and responsible harvesting. This rapid renewal makes birch firewood a more sustainable option, helping to preserve forest resources for future generations.
The kiln drying process further enhances the sustainability of birch logs. By reducing the moisture content to typically below 18%, kiln dried birch firewood burns with high heat output and minimal smoke. This not only means a warmer, more efficient fire but also contributes to better air quality, as less smoke and particulate matter are released into the environment. The low moisture content ensures that these logs are ready to burn certified, meeting strict standards for clean and efficient fuel.
Birch logs are also prized for their versatility and performance in a range of appliances. Whether you’re using wood burning stoves, multi fuel stoves, pizza ovens, or open fires, kiln dried birch logs ignite easily thanks to their natural oils, producing a sweet aroma and a lively flame. Their efficient burn makes them ideal for smaller stoves and log burners, as well as for commercial settings like restaurants and holiday homes that require reliable, high-quality fuel.
Sustainability extends beyond the wood itself to the way it’s delivered. At Logan’s Logs, we offer next working day delivery and the option to select a preferred delivery date, allowing customers to plan ahead and reduce unnecessary transport. Our use of bulk bags and sturdy crates minimizes packaging waste, and many customers find these containers useful for ongoing storage. Our delivery drivers are committed to providing excellent service, often assisting with placement to ensure your logs are handled efficiently and arrive in perfect condition.
Choosing kiln dried birch logs means opting for a fuel that is not only efficient and high-performing but also supports a more sustainable approach to heating and cooking. With their rapid regrowth, clean burn, and environmentally conscious delivery, birch kiln dried logs are an excellent choice for anyone looking to enjoy the warmth and ambiance of a real fire while minimizing their environmental impact. Whether for your home, business, or holiday property, you can rely on birch logs to deliver quality, efficiency, and peace of mind.

Hardwood Log Information
Our Hardwood is harvested from very large forests, under strict control by the Forestry Commission or other governing body depending on where we buy the Hardwood from, because Hardwood trees are natural they will vary in size, shape, even the bark may vary in looks, some trees will be smaller than others, some trees will be larger, the odd log might be a strange shape, unfortunately we cannot guarantee all logs will be the same size, you will get smaller logs and larger in your delivery, we check every load visibly to ensure you get the highest quality Kiln Dried Logs available.
Because the logs are Kiln Dried the bark will fall off quite a few logs, this is perfectly normal, the bark will burn as good as the wood, in most cases the bark will be used instead of kindling sticks or burnt on its own. Bark does form part of the delivery.
We do a hand-picked log service where any loose bark is removed and any larger logs will be removed, each log in your delivery will be picked out and if it has loose bark, it will be removed, if the log is larger than the majority, it will be removed and replaced with similar sized logs, this is extremely time consuming and will require a quotation, we will be delighted to help, please call our customer service team on 0800 8021 223 for a quotation for this service.

Our Kiln Dried Logs will vary in size, they are a natural product, trees all grow differently, most have a different diameter, so then the Log is split they will vary in size, you will have some larger logs as well as smaller ones, the smaller Logs are great to get your fire up to temperature quickly then you can put the larger Logs on for a longer burn, you may also notice that the bark will look slightly different from others, this is perfectly normal as they are a natural product and like us, they all grow and mature differently.
