Product Description
Oak is generally considered to be the best hardwood log you can buy. This is because Oak is extremely dense and slow growing which means when you put it into your wood burning stove, it burns fairly slowly and will burn hotter for longer than other hardwoods such as Ash, Birch or Alder.
Our loose loads of kiln dried oak logs are therefore exceptional value for money way to heat your home because they represent the most efficient way to buy oak firewood.
For maximum heat output, all of our oak logs are kiln dried to ensure a very low moisture content of less than 18%. This is significantly better than seasoned logs - our kiln dried oak logs are Ready to Burn certified.
Loose Volume Loads of Oak Logs
These kiln dried oak logs are sold by loose volume in cubic metres. We stack the oak logs as tightly as possible into a cubic metre measure. The firewood is then transferred to a tipper lorry and delivered to your home or business anywhere in Cornwall or Plymouth.
Our delivery service is available throughout Cornwall and into Plymouth, we have a small charge of £15.00 for deliveries within 25 miles of Wadebridge and £29.99 beyond 25 miles.
If you live in Wadebridge or spend over £300 your kiln dried oak logs will be delivered free. We're out delivering firewood all week (Monday to Friday) so if you have any questions about delivery or wish to arrange a specific delivery window, please do contact us on 0800 8021 223 or sales@loganslogs.co.uk and we will be very happy to help.
The Very Best Logs Money Can Buy
Oak really is the best for open fires and wood burning stoves. You can certainly buy ash, birch or alder cheaper than Oak logs but the heat output from an oak log will always be superior.
It's just a matter of density and heat. Two to three cubic metres of kiln dried oak would likely keep you warm all winter here in Cornwall. You may find you need more total wood volume if burning ash, alder or birch because, while they are still hardwood logs, they are not as dense as oak is.
Cut to Size
All of our logs are cut to 10 inches long which is the perfect size for most wood burning stoves in the UK. This also makes them suitable for cooking in pizza ovens during the summer because Oak makes an ideal choice for wood fired pizza.
We also stock boot bags of cooking wood specifically for pizza ovens where the logs are split even smaller to make them easier to light and add to your oven with ease.
Please note, loose loads are just that - loose. If you would prefer your firewood in a neat container, but still want to buy Oak Logs in Crates instead.

Hardwood Log Information
Our Hardwood is harvested from very large forests, under strict control by the Forestry Commission or other governing body depending on where we buy the Hardwood from, because Hardwood trees are natural they will vary in size, shape, even the bark may vary in looks, some trees will be smaller than others, some trees will be larger, the odd log might be a strange shape, unfortunately we cannot guarantee all logs will be the same size, you will get smaller logs and larger in your delivery, we check every load visibly to ensure you get the highest quality Kiln Dried Logs available.
Because the logs are Kiln Dried the bark will fall off quite a few logs, this is perfectly normal, the bark will burn as good as the wood, in most cases the bark will be used instead of kindling sticks or burnt on its own. Bark does form part of the delivery.
We do a hand-picked log service where any loose bark is removed and any larger logs will be removed, each log in your delivery will be picked out and if it has loose bark, it will be removed, if the log is larger than the majority, it will be removed and replaced with similar sized logs, this is extremely time consuming and will require a quotation, we will be delighted to help, please call our customer service team on 0800 8021 223 for a quotation for this service.
All our Kiln Dried Hardwood Logs are harvested and go through a careful kiln drying process, this involves continuous moisture and temperature checking by experienced staff.
This ensures that your Logs are in the best condition when they leave our premises in Wadebridge, Cornwall, our Kiln Dried Logs are continuously checked by our quality control process which ensures they are dried to below 18% moisture, most of our logs have an average of 15%.
Please don't be alarmed if you see the bark coming away from the log, this means the Kiln Dried Log has a lower moisture level, this bark is great for lighting your fire, our customers really like this as they don’t need kindling.
Our Kiln Dried Logs will vary in size, they are a natural product, trees all grow differently, most have a different diameter, so then the Log is split they will vary in size, you will have some larger logs as well as smaller ones, the smaller Logs are great to get your fire up to temperature quickly then you can put the larger Logs on for a longer burn, you may also notice that the bark will look slightly different from others, this is perfectly normal as they are a natural product and like us, they all grow and mature differently.
