Loose Load Log Deliveries
We sell Ash, Birch and Oak loose loads which are delivered by tipper lorry. Loose loads reduce packaging considerably but your logs delivered are loose and will be tipped at a location suitable for the lorry to reverse into.
This means that we cannot deliver loose loads of logs on the roadside because we can't leave logs on the public highway. Please make sure you have a private driveway or suitable place for us to deliver a loose load.
Firewood by the net, bag, cubic metre
Different sizes suit different situations and prices vary too. As a general rule, all of our pricing uses a sliding scale where the more firewood you buy, the lower the unit price. Kiln dried hardwood logs are available in nets such as the 22 litre Ash Net, 22 litre birch net or Oak nets. These logs are packaged in tight nets that mean you can easily transport or move the logs around at home.
For customers doing click and collect, the nets are perfect because they will fit in your car and not escape their packaging. Feel free to pay us a visit and we can show you a net of logs before you decide to buy.
If you are looking to buy a larger quantity of ready to burn kiln dried hardwood logs we recommend looking at barrow bags, loose loads or large crates. All of these can be delivered and if you are spending over £300 (which is likely with the larger quantities) we are pleased to offer free delivery anywhere in Cornwall and Plymouth.
Getting the most out of your wood burner
Moisture content is the key to a good fire. A good fire burns hot and slow and that is only realistically achieved by burning kiln dried firewood with a moisture content below 18%. We are a Ready To Burn Certified retailer so all of the wood you buy from us guaranteed to be dry.
To light the fire, use kiln dried kindling too. It will light easily and burn hot quickly ready to ignite your hardwood logs on top. Learn more about lighting the fire.
If you own a wood fired pizza oven we recommend boot bags of cooking firewood. We always have plenty in stock all year round and the logs are a mixture of hardwoods ideal for cooking pizza. They are cut small so you can fit them into the oven and are bark free so they burn clean.
Log Store Considerations
Please ensure you have an adequate store for your firewood. Firewood that is stored incorrectly may become damp over time and its effectiveness as a fuel will diminish. We recommend storing logs in a cool dry place in a location that is away from wet weather. A log store is ideal so long as the air flow is maintained and it's not completely open to the rain.
