Product Information Oak
Oak is one of the hardest hardwoods in the world, it makes superb wood for burning on fires, it burns for a long time and gives a high heat output, making it ideal for various heating applications. It’s highly recommended.
However, because Oak is very dense and hard it makes it much harder to light, in some cases people cannot light it, it smoulders and causes problems with the stove. The kiln-dried oak logs are ready for immediate use due to their low moisture content. Oak is good when you have a bed of fire to place it on, because the bed is already alight the Oak lights better. Oak logs are suitable for wood burners and other heating appliances.
We do highly recommend using Oak if you are experienced in burning it, once you have mastered the lighting and burning of it, you will be impressed with the heat and the burn time. The logs are also perfect for use in pizza ovens due to their clean and efficient burn.
Please ask our advice if not 100% sure, we would welcome your call.

Benefits of Kiln Dried Oak Logs
Kiln dried oak logs offer numerous advantages over seasoned logs. They burn hotter and cleaner, providing a consistent and robust heat that is perfect for wood burning stoves, pizza ovens, and open fires.
The low moisture content of our kiln dried oak logs makes them easier to light and ensures they produce less smoke, making them an excellent choice for indoor use. Additionally, kiln dried oak logs are more cost-effective as they burn longer and hotter compared to seasoned firewood, offering you better value for your money.

Our Hardwood is harvested from very large forests, under strict control by the Forestry Commission or other governing body depending on where we buy the Hardwood from, because Hardwood trees are natural they will vary in size, shape, even the bark may vary in looks, some trees will be smaller than others, some trees will be larger, the odd log might be a strange shape, unfortunately we cannot guarantee all logs will be the same size, you will get smaller logs and larger in your delivery, we check every load visibly to ensure you get the highest quality Kiln Dried Logs available.
Because the logs are Kiln Dried the bark will fall off quite a few logs, this is perfectly normal, the bark will burn as good as the wood, in most cases the bark will be used instead of kindling sticks or burnt on its own. Bark does form part of the delivery.
We do a hand-picked log service where any loose bark is removed and any larger logs will be removed, each log in your delivery will be picked out and if it has loose bark, it will be removed, if the log is larger than the majority, it will be removed and replaced with similar sized logs, this is extremely time consuming and will require a quotation, we will be delighted to help, please call our customer service team on 0800 8021 223 for a quotation for this service.
