Oak Hardwood Kiln Dried Firewood
Oak is one of the hardest hardwoods in the world, it makes superb wood for burning on fires, it burns for a long time and gives a high heat output, making it ideal for various heating applications. It’s highly recommended. In summer, oak trees are easily recognized by their broad, green leaves that cover the tree and provide ample shade.
However, because Oak is very dense and hard it makes it much harder to light, in some cases people cannot light it, it smoulders and causes problems with the stove. The kiln-dried oak logs are ready for immediate use due to their low moisture content.
Oak is good when you have a bed of fire to place it on, because the bed is already alight the Oak lights better. Oak logs are suitable for wood burners and other heating appliances. Compared to other hardwoods, oak burns longer and hotter but can be more difficult to ignite, while other hardwoods may light more easily but burn faster.

Our kiln dried oak logs are meticulously selected and processed to ensure you receive the highest quality firewood for your wood burning stoves, pizza ovens, and open fires. We source our oak logs from sustainable woodlands, guaranteeing a consistent supply of premium firewood. Oak grows slowly, developing into a large, sturdy tree with a broad canopy that can reach impressive heights and spreads, making it a prominent feature in the landscape. Through our precise kiln drying process, the logs are heated to high temperatures to reduce the moisture content to below 18%. This results in a cleaner, hotter, and more consistent burn. Whether you need a small batch or a large supply, our kiln dried oak logs are available in various crate sizes to suit your needs.

Characteristics of Oak Firewood
Oak firewood, especially when kiln dried, is renowned for its outstanding density and ability to produce excellent heat, making it a top choice for anyone using wood burning stoves, pizza ovens, or open fires. Kiln dried oak logs are carefully processed to achieve a low moisture content below 18% which means they are ready to burn and deliver a clean, efficient, and powerful heat output. This low moisture content not only ensures a more efficient burn but also helps reduce smoke and residue, keeping your stove, chimneys, and log store cleaner and safer.
One of the standout features of kiln dried oak is its density. Oak is a hardwood that is much denser than many other species, such as birch or ash. This density means that oak logs burn more slowly and steadily, providing a long-lasting and consistent source of heat. For those who rely on their wood burning stove throughout the winter, this translates to fewer refuels and more heat for your home, making kiln dried oak a cost-effective and practical fuel choice.
Kiln dried oak logs are also ideal for cooking, particularly in pizza ovens, where a steady, high heat is essential for perfect results. The kiln drying process ensures that the wood is dry and ready to use, reducing the risk of excess moisture causing issues during burning or cooking. Certified as “Ready to Burn,” kiln dried oak logs meet all UK standards for wood burning, giving you peace of mind that you are using a safe and efficient product.
Availability is another key advantage—kiln dried oak logs can be delivered quickly across the UK, with suppliers taking pride in offering a wide range of products, from logs and kindling to firelighters. Sourced from sustainable woodlands, these products are not only environmentally responsible but also renowned for their quality and reliability. Whether you’re looking to heat your home, cook outdoors, or simply enjoy the ambiance of an open fire, kiln dried oak logs are the perfect choice for anyone who values excellent heat, efficiency, and trust in their fuel.
Benefits of Kiln Dried Oak Logs
Kiln dried oak logs offer numerous advantages over seasoned logs. Compared to seasoned wood, kiln dried oak logs provide superior burn quality and efficiency. They burn hotter and cleaner, providing a consistent and robust heat that is perfect for wood burning stoves, pizza ovens, and open fires. Kiln dried oak logs produce excellent heat, making them highly suitable for heating purposes.
The low moisture content of our kiln dried oak logs makes them easier to light and ensures they produce less smoke, making them an excellent choice for indoor use. Because kiln dried oak logs have less moisture left in them, they are safer to use and less likely to spit. Additionally, kiln dried oak logs are more cost-effective as they burn longer and hotter compared to seasoned firewood, offering you better value for your money.
