How Long Does a Heat Log Burn For?
A typical heat log will burn for around 1 to 2 hours, although the exact burn time depends on the type and size of the heat log, your appliance and how much airflow is supplied to the fire.
Heat logs are made from densely compressed, very dry wood, so they provide a steady and predictable burn. In a wood-burning stove with the air controls reduced once the fire is established, they will generally burn for longer than they would on an open fire.
Burn time can also vary between different types of heat log. Some are designed to provide a strong, relatively quick heat output, while denser briquettes are intended to burn more slowly and retain heat for longer.
For the best results, avoid overloading your stove or fireplace. Add heat logs as required and follow the fuel manufacturer's guidance, particularly as some heat logs expand as they burn.
