How Many Heat Logs Should I Put On My Fire At Once?
For most fires, it is best to start with one or two heat logs at a time and add more only when needed. Heat logs are very dry and dense, so they can produce a considerable amount of heat compared with ordinary firewood.
If you are using a wood-burning or multi-fuel stove, avoid filling the firebox with heat logs. Some heat logs expand as they burn, and using too many at once could cause the stove to become excessively hot. Allow plenty of room around the fuel for air to circulate.
On an open fire, one or two heat logs added to an established fire will usually be sufficient. A suitable fireguard should always be used, particularly because some compressed logs can expand or break apart while burning.
The correct amount will depend on the size and type of your appliance and the particular heat logs you are using, so always follow the manufacturer's instructions and maximum fuel-loading guidance.
