Should I buy a barrow bag, bulk bag, large crate or loose load of Ash and Beech logs?
The best option depends on how often you burn logs, the amount of storage available and where the firewood will be unloaded. We supply our Ash and Beech hardwood logs in barrow bags, bulk bags, large crates and loose loads, allowing customers to choose a quantity and delivery method suited to their home.
A barrow bag is a practical choice for occasional or moderate users. Its narrower shape can make it easier to position than a larger bulk bag, particularly where access is restricted or storage space is limited. It provides a useful quantity without requiring the commitment or space associated with a full loose load.
Bulk bags are suitable for customers who burn regularly and want a substantial delivery contained within one unit. Before ordering, consider where the delivery vehicle can safely unload the bag and how far you will need to move the logs afterwards. A filled bulk bag is not something that can be carried by hand, so suitable access is important.
A large crate provides a considerable quantity of neatly contained firewood. It is a good option for regular stove users who have space for the crate or can unpack and stack the logs promptly. Because the wood is closely packed, a crate can also make it easier to understand how much physical storage space the delivery will occupy.
Loose loads generally offer a convenient way to purchase larger volumes of firewood. The logs are tipped rather than supplied in a container, so the unloading point needs to be carefully considered. You will also need to move and stack the logs after delivery. A loose load may be ideal if you have a suitable driveway, yard or unloading area close to your log store.
It is worth remembering that quantities supplied in different containers should not always be compared solely by their external dimensions. Logs tipped loosely into a bag or vehicle have more air gaps than logs carefully stacked in a crate.
Whichever format you select, measure your storage area and check the delivery access beforehand. If you are unsure, the Logan’s Logs team can help you choose between a manageable barrow bag, a contained bulk bag, a stacked crate or a larger loose-load delivery.
